Deep Dive Musings - 3 Things I Learned From Kobe Bryant

Are you waiting for more money or some event before you start following your dreams?

The world lost a great figure when Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash with his daughter and several others. While he may have been a polarizing figure, with people either loving or hating him, he was a legend. Kobe transcended the game of basketball and became a figure for so many people.

In this episode of The Deep Dive with Adam Roa I discuss three things that I learned from watching Kobe. From growing up watching basketball in Los Angeles, I always loved the Lakers and always admired Kobe for his work ethic. But it wasn’t until later after he matured that I really started to respect him as a person.

Here’s what you’ll hear in this episode:

  • The three things I learned from Kobe
  • How to shift your external world
  • What made Kobe so great and able to achieve success
  • What leaving a legacy really means, and how to do it

Kobe grew up in the NBA with the world watching him and he always had an intense level of competitiveness and unparalleled work ethic. For a long time people disliked him for his arrogance, but slowly he transitioned towards confidence, feeling like he had less to prove. As he became more comfortable with himself and his basketball career, his maturity translated off the court as well.

If you want to be great at something, you need to put in the work, something Kobe Bryant was a master of. He translated his mastery from basketball to the screen and other areas of life. Kobe was more than just a basketball player.

If you’ve been waiting for money or resources before you start living your dream life, then this episode is for you. I talk about why you shouldn’t wait to take action in life, the legacy Kobe left behind him, and lessons to learn from his death.
